Privacy notice

Draft, pending legal review. Last updated: [DATE, set after legal review]

Who we are

This site is run by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ([ENTITY TYPE / JURISDICTION]), [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. We decide how the personal information collected here is used. Contact us about anything on this page at [CONTACT EMAIL].

What we collect

When you open a free resource

  • Your email address.
  • Which resources you open, and when.
  • How you found the site: campaign tags in the link you followed (for example utm_source), the website that referred you, and the page you landed on.
  • Whether you ticked the optional marketing box. We record your choice either way, together with the exact wording shown next to the box, its version, the time and the page.

When you apply to work with me

  • Your first name and email address.
  • Your answers: what your business does and who it helps, your website or main business profile, where manual work slows you down, the problem that keeps happening, what solving it would free you up to do, whether you make the final decision on investing in a solution, and the budget range you chose.
  • How you found the site (as above).

When you book a call

Booking happens in a Calendly calendar on this site. Calendly collects what you enter there under its own privacy policy, and sends us the booking: your name, email address and the meeting time.

Technical information

To stop spam, our server uses your IP address briefly in memory to limit how many forms one connection can send. We don't store it. Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs. [Confirm the host's log retention.]

How we use it

  • To give you the resources you ask for and remember you on this device, so later resources open without asking for your email again.
  • To send marketing emails, only if you ticked the box. The box starts unticked. Leaving it unticked never stops you getting a resource, and we never add you to the mailing list without that tick.
  • To review your application, decide whether we're a fit, and contact you about it.
  • To understand which links and resources work, using the campaign and referral information above. Your name, email and answers are never sent to analytics tools.
  • To keep the site secure and block automated abuse.

[Legal bases, if UK/EU law applies (confirm with your lawyer): consent for marketing emails; steps you ask us to take before a contract, or legitimate interests, for applications; legitimate interests for delivering resources, measuring what works and security.]

Automatic decision on applications

When you submit an application, the site checks two of your answers automatically: whether you make the final decision on investing in a solution, and the budget range you chose. If both meet our criteria, you can book a call straight away. If not, you're shown our free resources instead. No other answer changes this result. Every application is saved and can be read by a person. If you think the result is wrong, email [CONTACT EMAIL] and we'll review it.

Marketing emails

If you opted in, we'll email you updates and new resources. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Once you unsubscribe, the site never puts you back on the list on its own, even if you tick the box again later: a person reviews that first. Our email provider is [email provider, not chosen yet].

Cookies and storage in your browser

  • zg_visitor cookie, 180 days: a signed, random identifier so you don't have to enter your email for each resource. It does not contain your email address.
  • zg_known cookie, 180 days: tells the page to show the “welcome back” option.
  • zg_src in session storage, until you close the tab: the campaign tags and referring website, attached to your request or application.
  • zg_application_draft in session storage, until you close the tab or submit: your unfinished application, so a page refresh doesn't lose it. It stays in your browser and is deleted once the application is saved.
  • Calendly's calendar loads only after you qualify, and Calendly may set its own cookies then. See Calendly's cookie notice.
  • Analytics: none at the moment. [Update if an analytics provider is added.]

We don't use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with the services that run this site, and only for the purposes above:

  • Hosting: [Cloudflare, once the hosting choice is confirmed], which serves the site and processes every request.
  • Notion: where your resource requests, marketing choice and applications are stored.
  • Calendly: scheduling, if you book a call.
  • Email provider: [not chosen yet], and only for people who opted in.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We may disclose it if the law requires us to.

These providers may store data outside your country, including in the United States. [Describe the transfer safeguards, e.g. standard contractual clauses, after legal review.]

How long we keep it

[Retention periods, to be set with legal advice. Suggested starting point to discuss: applications, two years after last contact; email list records, until you ask us to delete them; the record of your marketing choice, as long as we need to show consent.]

Security

The records are kept in a private Notion workspace. Data moves over encrypted connections, and the site's credentials are kept out of the code. No method of storage is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time with the link in any email.
  • Ask us for a copy of your information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing [CONTACT EMAIL].
  • Clear the cookies above in your browser settings. You'll just be asked for your email again next time.

[Add jurisdiction-specific rights after legal review, e.g. UK/EU: object, restrict, portability, withdraw consent, and complain to your data protection authority; US states such as California: know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing.]

Children

This site is for business owners and isn't meant for children. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under [age, confirm].

Changes

If we change how we use your information, we'll update this page and its date. If a change affects marketing consent you already gave, we'll ask again rather than assume.
